#5- Films Using The Themes in my Final Project

Coming of Age:

Featured is a still from the movie "Now and Then" by Lesli Linka Latter. This movie has always been a favorite of mine, even though it's a lesser known movie. This movie is about a group of four women looking back on the eventful year that was when they were twelve. This movie shows the situations they each were dealing with and how they were discovering who they are in the world. This film also covers the topic of being a young girl in the 70s. This can also leak over to human relationships, because each film can cover different themes. The movie shows these very different girls and their relationships with each other.

Human Relationships:

Featured is a still from the movie "Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky. This movie shows many different human relationships the main character, Charlie, experiences. Throughout the movie Charlie gets a better understanding of relationships, due to his lack of understanding from boundaries created from childhood trauma and complicated family situations. However, meeting Patrick and Sam is perspective and understanding on human relationships change. Throughout the story we see him interact with other characters and how he deals with these relationships, which can be in well mannered ways or awkward teen ways. This builds his narrative throughout the story (character development).

Teen Experience:
Featured is a still from the movie "10 Things I Hate About You" by Gil Junger. This movie includes human relationships and discovering who you are as a teenager. With scenes between other characters and how teenagers talk to each other and think. This movies shows what it looks like to live as a teenager, including school, friends, boyfriends, studying and many other things.
