#11- Equipment Video Diary

 Blog Post: Equipment Video Diary

Video Transcript:

Hello my name is Lizette Nieves and this is a video diary for my blog post on my equipment I'll be using for my AICE Media Studies Final Project.

The reason why I'm doing some video diaries for my blog post is so i can get more accustom to the filming process and the editing process and so when it comes to my CCR it comes naturally to me .

So in this video diary I'm just going tot b discussing the equipment I will be using in my AICE Media Studies Final Project.

So my first piece of equipment I have a tripod. It extends this way and it also have three levels for the legs. So, this is how high it goes. I will be using my tripod in a lot of scenes because I want that steady look to my shots because I don't want any handheld type shots... yet. I haven't decided if i don want to add one or two, maybe, but for right now I do want steady shots. So, having a tripod or having a steady like stand for my camera, so you don't get the shakiness of a handheld, is what I need for my film.

For the camera I will be using a Nikon D3500. Simply, you just extend the lens and turn it on and this is what it looks like when you're taking photos, so you just press this button and you take a photo. [And] when you want to film you just see this little switch that says LV and you just switch it over and it goes straight to the filming. [And] simply to just start recording you press this record button and it begins to record and you can just stop it by pressing that button.

My camera does a pretty good job at picking up audio, so in another blog post I will post some videos I've taken on my camera to show how the sound comes out. I don't have a microphone that is not part of the camera that attaches, like a Bluetooth microphone or any of that. So, I will be working with the audio on my camera. When it comes to it I'm going to test how my characters/my actors sound on the camera and if its not exactly how I want it to sound then I will go in and probably use my phone. Voice memos or audio, any kind of audio app that records audio. Stick it in a back pocket, and pick up their conversations and in thee editing process I will lay that over my video, so they are clearly heard.

That is all for this video diary on my equipment. In the next video diary, I believe, I will be discussing my editing process and I will show you how edit. This will be my first time editing on this computer, so having this video diary showing you guys how I will edit on this computer will help me later on when I am editing my final project and need to look back on how my computer works. So, just messing with this computer and the editing video diary. I will be messing with some clips that i just filmed randomly, so like clips outside, clips at school, clips in my room, you know just practicing.
