#8- Fleabag (2016)

Yes, a second blog post about a TV show! There was no way I wasn't going to write about Fleabag when doing a Drama Comedy!!! Fleabag is my favorite show, I'm a huge fan of Phoebe Waller-Bridge! She is an amazing write and actor. Now that I'm done fan-girling, let me explain why it is so important for me to do my research and watch media with my genres and themes. I'm trying to make the perfect narrative, and by consuming media I will be inspired and do just what I'm trying to achieve.

Fleabag is amazing example of handling serious topics and having perfectly timed comedy. I was sobbing at one scene and laughing at the next (the first time I watched it, and the million times after). I enjoy how the character, Fleabag, breaks the fourth wall throughout the entire show. I'm going to use that aspect in my final project. Their is a specific shot that I want to create where I want my character to make eye contact with the camera, in which she would be breaking the fourth wall. In this shot I want to try to execute a reverse zoom.

My final project won't have any serious events, because it is only the beginning two minutes. So my goal is to introduce the characters of my narrative. However, I still plan on adding comedy aspects. With the reverse zoom it'll show my audience that my character is dramatic, this will add a humorous tone because this type of shot is usually used in thriller for a uneasy feeling. The dialogue will also carry the comedy, which I will further discuss in a late blog post.

Overall, I love this show because it follows a funny and relatable woman protagonist. It has not only inspired my final project, but Phoebe Waller-Bridge has motivated me to be more creative and write more.
